General Summary

The Accounting Administration Support Co-Op will perform routine tasks associated with the operations of the Accounting Department, to include:

* May perform data entry or assemble reports *

* May gather and sort material, develop and maintain files *

* Learns and assists more senior staff with routine accounting tasks *

* May be cross-trained to assist in other accounting efforts *

* Gather data and compile reports in support of routine office operations*

The Co-Op student, at a minimum, will be exposed to the following areas of Accounting Administration:

* GAAP *

* Payroll Regulations *

* Government Cost Accounting Practices *

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent

* To be eligible for the COLSA Co-Op Program, students must be registered as regular, full-time college students at Athens State University and be registered with the school's cooperative education program.  The student must have completed a minimum of one semester or two quarters of study in an Accounting curriculum with a "B" average for all course work. 

* Due to facility DoD security requirements, candidates must possess U.S. citizenship

 Preferred Qualifications

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
