General Summary

Performs various general human resources duties in areas of benefits and wellness.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

* Responsible for performing general human resources support functions as assigned *

* May perform orientation duties as needed *

* Benefit department activities would include processing: vendor invoices, new hire elections/termination of benefits, address changes, 401(k) beneficiary forms, 401(k) payment/rollover requests and answering benefit questions from employees.

* Wellness Coordinator activities would include: scheduling various health and wellness activities including special events, challenges, health fairs, and biometrics. Coordinating the activities and points earned/incentives paid through third-party portal. Preparing regular Wellness newsletter and other communications.

* Must be able to travel (approximately 10%) to other COLSA facilities during the year.

Required skills include:

  • Must be able to work cooperatively with people at all levels in the organization and be able to respond appropriately to sensitive questions and concerns from individuals about their personal health situations.
  • Must have good level of expertise with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively deliver clear and concise messaging about health and health programs/events.
  • Must be energetic, outgoing and encouraging to increase participation and be a champion for health change.
  • Must have analytical skills to read, understand and interpret health claim data and translate that data into focused programs that would best benefit the health of the work force.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all health, Human Resources, personal and benefit information of employees.
  • Energetic and outgoing.
  • Ability to work with people of all levels of the organization.
Required Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs (Microsoft Word and Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of related experience in human resources, specifically with benefits and wellness programs
  • Experience with Deltek, Time and Expense or other Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) preferred
