About Our Team

Members of SEDs Targets IV&V Team provides the Missile Defense Agency’s Targets Directorate with Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of the flight software for all MDA’s Strategic Targets. Using actual flight software running on a processor-in-the loop configuration, we verify and validate that the target will meet the designated mission profile. This small team of engineers has both the challenges and rewards of providing valuable “go/no-go” inputs to flight test with both national and international implications.

What you’ll be doing

This Linux Systems Analyst will be responsible for the effective installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of system hardware, software and related infrastructure on multiple platforms, primarily UNIX/Linux systems. Additional duties include daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, key system processes and the review of system/application logs. Candidate will be required to have working knowledge and experience with configuring system network interfaces, connecting and managing physical and network attached storage, and conduct tape archiving and retrievals. Candidate will be responsible for working with the customer on troubleshooting hardware/software issues and performing analysis on system problems. Candidate will also work with system users to define problem areas, data availability, report requirements, etc. Responsible for implementing system design specifications. Candidate may also define input/output file specifications to include file organization. Candidate may be responsible for defining controls, conversion procedures and system implementation plans. 

Required Experience

 Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a related field, or the equivalent experience

* Minimum of five years work related experience

* Must have an active SECRET security clearance

* In accordance with DoD 8570.1M, the candidate must obtain an IAT-II level baseline certification (Security+) within 90 days of hire

* Ability to obtain a Computing Environment Certification (UNIX/Linux) within 90 days of hire date

* Experience with LINUX OS's in a networked/domain environment (CentOS or Redhat)

* Understanding of modern TCP/IP networking fundamentals for local area networks

* Experience with patching and deploying software products and updates using both Yum and  Script 

* Experience with deploying, managing and maintaining LDAP

* Experience with Virtual Machines and hardware virtualization technology (VMWare, Hyper-V)

Preferred Qualifications

* CISCO, MCSE, or other related certification

* Understanding of Information Assurance (IA) systems: Host Based Security System (HBSS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)

* Understanding of backup/DR technologies and storage systems

* Experience with STIG processes

* Experience with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls

* Experience with Linux

* Familiar with system imaging processes and software (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Acronis)

* Experience with Multifactor Authentication and PKI

* Understanding of Microsoft SQL components

* Familiar with Microsoft IIS
