General Summary

The Sensors Test Analysis Requirements Simulation (STARS) team is seeking a BMDS Systems Engineer who will enhance our support of the Missile Defense Agency’s sensor systems. This position requires a details oriented individual who will perform a variety of tasks including radar operation and using raw radar data, analyzing radar performance from flight and ground tests. The ideal candidate will have hands-on radar experience with one of the 4 radars from the Sensors Directorate portfolio (AN/TPY-2, SBX, UEWR or Cobra Dane) and have a good understanding of systems engineering processes, missile defense architectures and weapon systems, and Air and Missile Defense radar applications.  The candidate should be capable of be executing documented test and analysis procedures on a demanding schedule and should be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. The position will include collaboration within a team environment while emphasizing individual contributions to produce products that are valuable to the customer. Candidate must have good people skills, excellent communicator and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers.

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in related field such as information systems, engineering, etc, or equivalent experience.

* Minimum of two years system design experience.

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.

* Familiarity with at least one of the following radars AN/TPY-2, SBX, UEWR, Cobra Dane or LRDR. 

* Knowledge of how radars operate and have experience with data manipulation and analysis.

* The ability to follow detailed procedures and an interest and desire to troubleshooting issues when they’re identified. 

* Candidate must be able to interact effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds including government and external industry personnel.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills is required.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree preferred.

* Should be proficient in MATLAB or similar analysis tools.

* Familiarity with UNIX and Linux operating systems.
