General Summary

Under general direction, assists and may perform design, testing, operations and implementation of state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Involved in the design, development, testing, and implementation of cyber applications, secure operating systems, networks, and database products. *
  • Conducts risk assessments and makes security improvement recommendations.*
  • Assists with wide range of Cyber security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access and reviews and recommends changes.*
  • Performs analyses of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. *
  • Implements encryption, penetration testing, and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies.*
  • Involved in the integration of architectural features into existing infrastructures.
  • May be involved with developing cloud computing and mobile devices application security products.
  • Perform vulnerability scans of classified and unclassified information systems
  • Research and provide security recommendations of operational and development environments
  • Assess current security status to determine compliance with Risk Management Framework authorizations and customer directives
  • Deploy and manage security solutions such as ACAS, HBSS, and Multi-Factor Authentication

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 to 10 years work related experience.
  • Knowledge of cyber security policy and tools, threat mitigation, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, and secured networks is preferred.
  • Ability to clearly present and communicate technical approaches and findings.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance Required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACAS experience
  • Security + CE Certification
  • Advanced certification such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • UNIX/Linux experience
