Cybersecurity Analyst


PPT Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst in Huntsville, Alabama.

Description of Responsibilities:
The Cybersecurity Analyst will prepare Cyber Threat Trending and Exploitation analysis, develop comprehensive Risk Assessments, and evaluate overall risk posture of MDA systems and networks supporting the Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) program.  The candidate will conduct research on a variety of sources for current and evolving Cyber trends, understand and detail specific Cyber threats to MDA, DoD, and the Defense Industrial Base networks and systems.  The Cybersecurity Analyst will support the MDA IA, Certification & Accreditation (C&A), and Computer Network Defense (CND) staffs, the candidate will provide expertise to the MDA C&A, Controls Validation Test (CVT) teams in conducting risk assessments and building an overall threat picture of evaluated systems and networks.  The candidate will utilize solid communication skills to explain characteristics and impacts of Information Technology (IT) vulnerabilities to BMD systems and networks in briefings to MDA senior leadership and system stakeholders.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for the Cybersecurity Analyst:


  • BS/BA degree or higher, preferably in a technical discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT with at least 5 of those in cybersecurity related area
  • Must be DoD 8570 certification compliant.  The list of minimum required certifications are: GIASC Security Essentials (GSEC), Security+ CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), or Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA-Security)
  • Technical skillset and background with various operating systems, networking protocols, IDS/IPS/firewall technologies, and DoD assessment tools and methods
  • Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework, NIST, DISA STIGs, ACAS, NESSUS and eMASS
  • Must have solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have an active Top Secret security clearance


Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for the Cybersecurity Analyst:


  • CISSP certification is desired
  • Knowledge of DoD network engineering/security standards
  • Familiarity with SP 800-30 risk assessment processes
  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel
