Electronics Engineer

QTEC Aerospace is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic. JOB DESCRIPTION: QTEC Aerospace supports a laboratory that was established to receive, analyze, and exploit terrorist improvised explosive devices, or IEDs, of interest to the United States. QTEC Aerospace assists in the coordination efforts across law enforcement, intelligence, military, to gather and share forensic data and intelligence about devices, tactics, techniques, and procedures—helping to disarm and disrupt IEDs, link them to their makers, and, most importantly, prevent future attacks. We seek an Electrical Engineer with technical and analytical expertise. This engineer is responsible for conducting circuit and schematic analysis, developing accurate device schematics, conducting electronics research and component exploitation. The result analysis will provide senior military commanders essential data required to facilitate policy decision regarding force protection, direct multi-million-dollar acquisition programs for explosive resistant equipment, support enemy network analysis and relationships. This engineer may provide technical supervision to lower level engineers and technical staff. Provide technical and analytical activities including the following: • Reverse engineer IEDs to determine functionality and triggering mechanisms • Reconstruct detailed schematics of electronic circuits used in IEDs • Perform signal analysis and RF characterization of wireless IEDs • Recover digital forensics data from IED electronic memory • Track possible trends and device evolution associated with IED design, physical characteristics, electrical construction and forensic data • Provide training and briefings on reverse engineering techniques and common IED technologies for technicians and engineers new to the field or deploying to theater • Build replicas of real-world IEDs for training, testing, and demonstration purposes • Provide rapid responses to requests for information to fill critical information gaps • Develop tools to aid in the research, analysis, and characterization of IED electronics • Provided technical and end-user subject matter expertise in development of software tools EDUCATION: • A BS in an engineering discipline is preferred with 5 years of relevant experience; will substitute five years of equivalent experience for BS. • Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline with two to five years of experience EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Experience with testing electronic or electrical devices with standard lab equipment, including oscilloscope, power supplies, RF signal generator, waveform generator, audio analyzer, DSP analyzer, multimeters, and labview automation software PR017-009 QTEC, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
