Engineer 7 - ERC - (606)


The engineering performs activities/tasks associated with planning and project management for the transition, implementation, and integration of missile/ammunition demilitarization capabilities.  Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:  formulating, developing, and maintaining work packages (cost/schedule/risk) for varying levels (R&D through final implementation) of demilitarization capabilities, reviewing work/cost/schedule discrepancies, assist in the development of program/project efforts and proposals, provide/maintain test schedules for the implementation and integration of demilitarization capabilities, coordinate integration requirements for demilitarization capabilities, and perform other duties as required for transitioning demilitarization capabilities  Participates as a team member to support scientist and engineers in the area of research and development on missile maintenance, stockpile reliability and demilitarization.  Participates as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety and quality of the team.


Certification requirements/desired:


  • Ammunition & Explosives certification for observers (desired)


Experience required/desired:


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience required in the area of ammunition and explosives
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience required in project support
  • Specific experience with demilitarization of munitions, and reverse engineering/disassembly of munitions items desired
  • Strong ability to interpret/review program schedules, develop/review program cost estimates, and translate program requirements into test/program plans
