General Summary
Provides General Engineer support to Project Office (PM) Aviation Systems (AS), PEO Aviation.  PM AS is undertaking several technical concepts and initiatives within government-wide S&T organizations, industry IRAD development, or development efforts within the Army and other services that exist within the functional portfolio of PM AS.   This position will identify and maintain liaison with the Aviation and Mission Command Science and Technology Research and Development Commands and laboratories to gain insights into concepts and initiatives that would have applicability to PM AS portfolio. In addition, this position will join, lead, and support working groups to present, develop, defend, assess, and evaluate technical concepts and initiatives for applicability to advance capabilities within the PM AS portfolio.

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience (8 years of related experience may be substituted for degree)

* Minimum of 10 years of experience are required (total of 18 years of related experience are required if no degree)

* Active SECRET security clearance required

* Due to the sensitive nature of the work we perform for the US Government, US Citizenship is required

* Knowledge of IP based data network to assess concepts, proposals, demonstration that stems from after action reports in order to evaluate science and technology initiatives reliant on data networks and the Army Tactical Network

* Demonstrated character and temperament to work within the Government/contractor team

Preferred Qualifications

* 5 years cumulative experience in government or industry organizations as an engineer pursuing material solutions for an acquisition program

* Demonstrated ability to perform cost benefit analyses and to produce tangible cost impacts resultant from engineering activities

* Demonstrated ability to extract and manipulate data from US Army and contractor databases. Ability to construct metrics to support leadership decision making

* Ability to organize, develop, and present information briefings and decision briefings using the construct of the Military Decision Making Process (Process) as a means to identify the issues, state assumptions, develop courses of action, assess the merits of each course of action, select a preferred course of action, and present a recommendation with rationale to the decision authority
