General Summary

Candidate will need to operate and manage all aspects of McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (HBSS) focusing on host based network security and information assurance controls in a DoD environment. The candidate will install, operate, monitor, maintain, document and report on security components to include: malware, USB devices, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, policy compliance, and firewall rule sets. Under limited direction, designs, tests, operates and implements secure operating systems, networks, and database products.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

* Designs, tests, operates and implements secure operating systems, networks, and database products.

* Monitor host configurations and respond to potential threats/vulnerabilities

* Contribute to design, implementation and monitoring of HBSS components

* Perform host based intrusion detection and forensics

* Analyze and report HBSS incidents to CERT responders

* Deploy and configure McAfee point products such as VirusScan Enterprise, Rogue System Detection, Policy Auditor, and Data Loss Prevention / Device Control Module

* Implement and monitor security measures based on IA/CTO guidelines

* Conducts risk assessments and provides recommendations for application design.

* Handles a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.

* Performs analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

* Provides some technical expertise and guidance to more junior team members.

* Responsible for analysis, evaluation, and recommendations designed to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the customer's security program. Builds and maintains trusted relationships with customers.

* Assists in ensuring that customer or product requirements are converted into total systems solutions.

* Integrates architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cyber security architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration/testing issues.

* May interface with external entities (e.g. law enforcement, intelligence/government agencies, etc.)

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent; advanced degree preferred

* Minimum of 7 years work related experience.

* Candidates must have a DoD SECRET level security clearance

* Current DoD 8570 IAT level II certification (Security+ or equivalent)

* Experience with daily administration and troubleshooting of McAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator

* Experience managing and certification in Windows or Linux OS

* Ability to work independently and in a professional manner

Preferred Qualifications

* Strong SQL skills and experience

* McAfee / Intel Security Certified Product Specialist Certification

* Current DoD 8570 CSSP certification (CEH or equivalent)

* Experience with Tenable SecurityCenter and Nessus

* MCITP or MCSE certifications
