General Summary: 

COLSA Corporation is seeking candidates for a Cyber Systems Analyst to join Huntsville’s Family of Professionals. Candidate selected will be afforded the opportunity to showcase their technical abilities in a fast-paced, dynamic and team-oriented environment, in support of the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) engineering, development, integration, testing and analysis of Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS) component systems.

This Systems Analyst will be responsible for the effective installation/configuration, and maintenance of security hardware and software on systems of various Operating System. Additional duties include applying required system patches and mitigation of potential system vulnerabilities, system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, key system processes and the review of system/application logs. Candidate may provide guidance to lower-level employees.  Candidate will be required to have working knowledge and experience with reviewing and collecting action items from vulnerability reports. Candidate will be responsible for working with the security teams, lab SAs and management in troubleshooting hardware/software issues and performing analysis on system problems. Candidate may also be responsible for implementing security system design specifications and defining input/output file specifications to include file organization. Candidate may be responsible for defining controls, conversion procedures and system implementation plans. Candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining classified systems to which he/she is assigned. Other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and exhibit the ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic customer-oriented environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Tracking/mitigation of potential system vulnerabilities
  • System monitoring
  • Verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, and key system processes 
  • Review of system/application logs
  • Provide guidance to System Administrators
  • Use vulnerability reports to determine action items.
  • Work with the security teams, lab SAs and management in troubleshooting hardware/software issues and performing analysis on system problems
  • Analyzing security system design specifications, defining controls, conversion procedures and system implementation plans.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 to 7 years of work related experience
  • Knowledge of the following areas is preferred: real-time security situational awareness, operational network systems, and security monitoring
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security + CE Certification within 90 days of hire
  • Experience with STIGs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Security + CE Certification
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience developing RMF packages and writing supporting documentation
  • Experience with eMASS, ACAS, HBSS, and SCAP
  • Understanding of cyber security policy and threat mitigation
  • Higher level IAT certifications such as CASP
  • Experience certifying and accrediting DoD or MDA related systems
  • Prior experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)
