General Summary

Under close direction, assists in the testing, operation and implementation of secure operating systems, networks, and database products.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Provides assistance for the design, testing, operation and implementation of secure operating systems, networks, and database products. *
  • Supports risk assessments and provides recommendations for security process programming *
  • Assists in a wide range of Cyber security issues including architectures, firewalls, data traffic, and network access.*
  • Involved in the integration of architectural features into existing infrastructures.*
  • May be involved in the resolution of integration/testing issues
  • May assist with encryption, penetration testing, and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research.
  • May interface with external agencies (e.g. law enforcement, intelligence/government agencies, etc.
  • Perform vulnerability scans of classified and unclassified information systems
  • Assist Cyber Engineers and Information System Security Officers in the remediation of vulnerabilities
  • Use and maintain security solutions such as ACAS, HBSS, and Multi-Factor Authentication
Required Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 0 to 7 years of work related experience.
  • Basic knowledge of cyber security policy and tools, threat mitigation, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, and secured networks.
  • Ability to clearly present and communicate technical approaches and findings.
  • US Citizenship Required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Security+ CE certification
  • Experience with one or more of the following operating systems:  Windows, UNIX, Linux, Cisco IOS
  • Certification in one or more of the operating systems above
