General Summary

The Sensors Test Analysis Requirements Simulation (STARS) team is seeking a Radar Software/Systems Engineer who will assist in the verification and validation of digital models representing each of the radars in the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) for the Missile Defense Agency and the corresponding signal injector of each.  This position requires a details oriented individual who will perform a variety of tasks including source-code decomposition, analysis and evaluation of algorithms, code inspection and white-box software testing.  The candidate should be proficient in C, C++ and capable of be executing documented test and analysis procedures on a demanding schedule and should be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. The position will include direct collaboration with the MDA customer as well as collaboration within a team environment while emphasizing individual contributions to produce products that are valuable to the customer. Candidate must have good people skills, excellent communicator and the desire to work with a team of other highly-qualified engineers.  

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or other related field or equivalent experience.

* Minimum of eight years of applicable progressively complex software design engineering experience.

* Must have an active secret clearance.

* Familiarity with the overall BMDS and detailed knowledge of some element of the BMDS.

* A detailed understanding of how the radars operate and have experience with radar data manipulation and analysis.

* Understanding of radar signal injectors.

* Familiarity with MATLAB or similar analysis tools.

* Familiarity with UNIX and Linux operating systems.

* Candidate must be able to interact effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds including government and external industry personnel.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills is required.

Preferred Qualifications

*  Masters Degree in related field such as information systems, engineering, etc or equivalent experience.

*  Hands-on knowledge of the operation or analysis at least one of the following radars AN/TPY-2, SBX, UEWR, LRDR or Cobra Dane.
