General Summary

Under limited direction, analyzes and tests secure operating systems and networks.  Identifies, develops, and documents Cyber Security (CS) system requirements. Assesses CS posture and identifies mitigations for risks. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

* Responsible for analyzing the system for CS requirements *

* Assesses CS architecture and current hardware limitations *

* Conducts risk assessments and provides recommendations for reducing risk in CS system design *

* Ensures there is an acceptable level of risk for the configuration of the system to meet the following Cyber Security and Risk Management Framework (RMF) policies and guidelines: DoDD 8500.1, DoDI 8500.2, DoDI 8510.01, DoD 8570.01-M, AR 25-2, NIST SP800-53, and Army Best Business Practices (BBPs). *

* Runs scans using ACAS and SCAP to determine current security posture of the system *

* Uses eMASS to support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process *

* Leads development of the RMF package to achieve an ATO *

* Assists in the development of the Security Plan and required artifacts/documentation under RMF *

* Coordinates with all CS roles (ISSO, ISSM, etc.) as required until achievement of the ATO *

* Performs analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

* Responsible for analysis, evaluation, and recommendations designed to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the customer's security program. Builds and maintains trusted relationships with customers.

* Mentor more junior-level employees 

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent; advanced degree preferred

* Minimum of 10 years work related experience

* Experience with RMF documentation development, ACAS and SCAP scans, and eMASS

* Ability to work independently to develop the RMF package

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* SECRET security clearance

* A Security+ certification or equivalent is required within six months of hire


Preferred Qualifications

* Security+, CISSP

* HBSS experience
