General Summary

Develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

* Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases of significant projects *

* Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity *

* Reviews literature, patents & current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects *

* Reviews the completion and implementation of technical products *

* May evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services

* May provide technical consultation to other departments

* May provide work leadership to lower level employees

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or other related field or equivalent experience.

* Minimum of eight years of applicable progressively complex software design engineering experience.

* Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

* Knowledge of and familiarity with the IEEE 1012-1998 Standard for Software Verification and Validation.

* Demonstrated experience with software architecture, systems engineering, software integration, and verification and validation. 

* IV&V experienced with at least one of the following:

          * Evaluating PIDS, CIDS, SRS and IRS requirements against System Specification requirements to ensure testability and traceability.

          * Evaluating software requirements for completeness, correctness, consistency, accuracy, and readability and testability.

          * Test Verification including test witnessing, test analysis, test plan analysis, and system design analysis.

* Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with ability to interact well in group meeting/working environments.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in related field such as information systems, engineering.

* Experience with developing a strategic plan for developing an engineering product.
