The Senior Systems IntegrationEngineer will support the SLS Level III Liquid Engines Office ensuring theadequacy of SE&I products to the SLS Vehicle and to KSC GroundOperations\. Provide Project Engineeringsupport to integrate solutions to issues, facilitate integrated discussions,participate in task teams and document reviews, provide status on issues anddeliverables, help maintain open communication with the SLS Level II VehicleSE&I Operations Team, and help support the Requirement Change Notice \(RCN\)process\. Special emphasis placed at thecurrent time on the cross program \(SLS to GSDO\) coordination within the OperationsMaintenance Requirements and Specification \(OMRS\) Management System \(OMS\):

+ Supportthe Launch Commit Criteria \(LCC\) and LCC Management System \(LMS\) and generationof LCC Change Notice \(LCN\)process\.

+ Assistin the review and disposition of cross programs OMRS and LCCs, as well as thereview of GSDO’s Work Authorization Documents, WADs\.

+ Assistin the Logistics Supportability Analysis and the necessary coordination withLevel II, GSDO, and prime contractors, including activities related to Ground SupportEquipment \(GSE\) and Maintenance Task Analysis \(MTAs\) for nominal and offnominal processing of the liquid rocket engines\.

+ Facilitateengine\-to\-vehicle and engine\-to\-architecture technical integration andintegrate with other SLS and Engineering organizations to coordinate and obtainthe necessary information to produce documents that meet the Program/Project requirementsand assist in the review and approvals of documents\.


Degree in Engineering or related field from an ABET\-accredited university is required\. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph\.D\., with minimum of 12 years of experience, a Masters with at least 15 years of experience, or BS with at least 20 years of experience\.

Senior engineer needs to possess aworking knowledge of the NASA SE&I processes to be able to provide arigorous and overarching engineering structure within which to conduct thedesign, development, test, and evaluation of the liquid engine systems\.Demonstrated experience required with the majority of the following:

+ Coordinatebetween NASA and prime contractor teams to achieve broader SE&I objectives\.

+ Providestructured design reviews consistent with NASA and MSFC standards\.

+ Provideinsight to contractor systems analysis and systems integration activities\.

+ Developand maintain the technical requirements for the liquid engine system to includecoordination with the project office and with contractor requirementsdevelopment personnel and products\.

+ Coordinateplanning for requirement verification activities leading toflight\-certification hardware\.

+ Facilitateengine\-to\-vehicle and engine\-to\-architecture technical integration\.

+ Developprogrammatic systems engineering documentation\.

+ Integratewith other SLS and Engineering organizations to coordinate and obtain thenecessary information to produce documents that meet the Program/Projectrequirements and assist in the review and approvals of documents\.

+ Coordinatewith reviewer’s relative to the initial release and approval of documents as wellthe necessary revisions throughout the period of performance\.

+ Supportthe development and execution of the Project’s processes and procedures asrelated to Systems Engineering\.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Office environment\. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing \(100%\)\. Requires ability to interact professionally with co\-workers, management, and client \(100%\)\. Requires travel in the domestic USA \(<15%\)\.

Physical Requirements

Requires sitting for extended periods of time in meetings with peers, management, and with our client at NASA facilities to discuss technical issues \(10%\)\. Also, requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk to write reports and perform engineering tasks \(80%\)\. Requires ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at NASA and Jacobs facilities \(10%\)\.

Equipment and Machines

Requires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, fax machine, copier, calculator, and other general office equipment \(100%\)\.


Normal workday is from 7:30 a\.m\. through 4:30 p\.m\., Monday thru Friday\. Minimal overtime may be required \(10%\) to meet schedule milestones and to support technical demands of the job\. Regular attendance is a necessity and adequate arrangements for delegating duties during absences are required\.

Other Essential Functions

The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential \(100%\)\. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others\.
