General Summary

The Sensors Test Analysis Requirements Simulation (STARS) team is seeking a mid-to-senior level software engineer to support the overall STARS program.  This position will serve as a software engineer for the STARS team initially focused on the development and maintenance of the analytical tools supporting the Ballistic Missile Defense System’s Sensor’s Hardware-In-the-Loop and then evolving to other software engineering activities as directed.  These activities will include development and maintenance of a real-time digital software application in support of Missile Defense programs and requires experience in the design, code, and unit test of real-time radar digital signal injection systems and other radar simulations.   The successful candidate must be able to quickly learn the STARS specific software development processes and procedures and the implement these processes and procedures on an existing system. 

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

* Master's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or other related field or equivalent experience.

* Minimum of eight years of applicable progressively complex software design engineering experience.

* Must have an active secret security clearance.

* Experience with Unix/Linux, C/C++ and Ada is required.

* Must have software development experience and be capable of completing design, code and unit test activities on a complex radar system.

* Good communications and people skills is an absolute must. Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds including government and external industry personnel.    

Preferred Qualifications

* Understanding of the missile defense architecture and knowledge of major radar software systems such as AN/TPY-2, Sea-Based X-Band, Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR), Cobra Dane or LRDR.

* Experience with Code Scan analysis, e.g Fortitfy) 

* MATLAB experience is highly desirable.

* Experience with software architecture, object-oriented design, and real-time applications development is desired.

* Familiarity with troubleshooting, software agile development, CMMI level 3 processes, and configuration management.
