General Summary

This is a full time position with Colsa Corporation. The position is located at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama supporting the Marshall Information Technology Services (MITS II) contract as a system administrator in the Infrastructure Services team. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance (upgrades and patches) of physical and virtual computing systems and hosting infrastructure and OS level software. Responsibilities include ensuring stability and viability of the 24/7 mission-critical production environment. This individual will troubleshoot problems and issues identified by customers and implement corrective actions and participate with other system administrators on a 24/7, on-call rotation to support critical incident management events. It is essential to work closely with other system and storage administrators, system engineers, and  the customer.

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a computer related field or equivalent experience required (may substitute 4 years of directly related experience for degree)
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a Microsoft Windows or Linux server/system administrator (total of 6 years of directly related experience if no degree)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Due to the sensitive nature of the work we perform for the US Government, US Citizenship is required
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new situations
  • Strong commitment to contributing in a team environment
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn new and emerging technologies
  • Strong analytical thought processes and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years ESXi and VMWare experience
  • Experience with any of the following is a significant plus:

- Both Windows and Linux administrations skills
- Windows Powershell and/or Linux shell scripting 
- RedHat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker
- Ansible
- Hyperconverged platforms
- Installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting UCS
