Provides systems engineer support to Product Manager (PM)  Aviation Mission Equipment (AME), PEO Aviation.  PM AME is undertaking several developmental programs for Assured Position, Navigation, and Time (A-PNT) that require a high degree of knowledge of all aspects of GPS architecture, technology, and avionics development in order to successfully field A-PNT capability to the warfighter.   This position provides engineering and programmatic expertise in the areas of GPS, civil/military Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), Global Airspace Traffic Management (GATM), and development/ airworthiness qualification of avionics systems and subsystems used in Army aviation platforms. These projects are in a variety of project management phases ranging from planning and fielding to analysis, testing, and reporting.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience (8 years of related experience may be substituted for degree)

* Minimum of eight years of experience are required (total of 16 years of related experience are required if no degree)

* Active TOP SECRET security clearance required

* Due to the sensitive nature of the work we perform for the US Government, US Citizenship is required

* Knowledge in GPS architecture, technology, and avionics

* Knowledge of the Army’s airworthiness processes and requirements

* Familiarity with the following Government and Non-Government standards, such as: MSO-C145a, IS-GPS-099, IS-GPS-200, IS-GPS-246, RTCA DO-229B/D, RTCA DO-254, RTCA DO-178B, TSO-C129a, TSO-C196b, TSO-C146d, and RTCA DO-200.

* Knowledgeable of Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) navigation requirements in civil and military airspace

* Familiarity with Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS) and the Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File (DAFIF) databases (multiple Editions) to aviation platforms

* Demonstrated the character and temperament to work within the Government/contractor team

 Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in engineering or related field preferred. 

* Technical cognizance of the GPS Security Classification Guide (SCG) and relate such guidance into material development and expert knowledge of operational and test GPS cryptographic key usage in the Army

* Able to operate the DGNS and EGI and its associated test equipment

* Knowledgeable of the GPS threat for application into A-PNT development efforts for Anti-Jam (AJ) antenna, software resiliency, and GPS Modernization

* AJ antenna engineering knowledge with the Small Antenna System (SAS) and Multiplatform Anti-Jam GPS Navigation Antenna (MAGNA) system
