General Summary

Aviation System Engineer

COLSA Corporation is seeking candidates for an aviation Systems Engineer knowledgeable of the Improved Data Modem (IDM) to join Product Manager Aviation Mission Equipment (AME), PEO Aviation in Huntsville, AL. We are seeking an individual who is excited about working with state-of-the art Aviation Systems and enjoys working with and solving complex problems. An IDM system engineer will be a contributing team member for requirements analysis, test scenarios, digital simulations, interoperability and aircraft integration testing.  They will utilize In-depth knowledge of IDM hardware and software versions as integrated on Army Aviation Platforms. 

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or the equivalent experience (8 years of related experience may be substituted for degree).

* Minimum of eight years work related experience at the program level to provide programmatic and/or systems engineering/integration support to major DoD acquisition activities (16 total years of related experience is required if no degree).

* Active Security clearance required.

* Due to the nature of work we perform for the US Government, US Citizenship is required.

* Familiarization with IDM hardware and software versions integrated on Army aviation platforms.

* Must have the ability to work in a teaming environment and have the interpersonal skills to interface with numerous Government and contractor personnel in a rapid paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

* Familiarization with the SED software development process and software testing.

* Familiarization with the development of SOWs, CDRL/DIDs.

* Familiarization with environmental testing to include E3, climatic, and dynamic testing.

* Knowledge of multicore processing and hypervisors within an aviation product.

* Familiarization with the airworthiness certification process.
