General Summary

Develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of advanced system requirements and problems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

* Responsible for developing and applying advanced techniques in the investigation and solution of advanced system requirements and problems *

* Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases of significant projects *

* Coordinates efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects *

* Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity *

* Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management *

* May evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services

* May provide technical consultation to other departments

* May provide work leadership to lower level employees

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in related field such as information systems, engineering, etc or equivalent experience.

* Minimum of eight years experience in progressively complex systems design, including hardware/software integration of complex systems.

* Ability to qualify for Public Trust.

* Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree preferred

  • Familiarity with modeling languages, such as Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
  • Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) certifications (e.g. Object Management Group (OMG), International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE)
  • Experience with MBSE tools such as:
    • Gensym's G2
    • QSI's Testability, Engineering, And Maintenance System (TEAMS)
    • 'C' Language Integrated Production System (CLIPS)
    • Sparx System's Enterprise Architect (Sparx EA)
    • No Magic Inc.'s Magic Draw
  • Experience with C, C++
  • Experience with MATLAB and SIMULINK
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORs or DOORs Next Generation) and CM tools (e.g. Clearcase)
