Systems Engineering Task Lead (JC97939024)

Position Responsibilities: Provide Systems Engineering guidance and support lead a disciplined system engineering approach to the definition, development, and analysis of the system capabilities. Based on understanding of the design and results of comparisons, use related systems engineering tools and documents to analyze, understand, and propose changes to systems engineering analysis, user CONOPS and system operational concepts, and system and interface requirements specifications in support of C2BMC. Work towards future BMDS capabilities such as sensor management, tasking, cueing, and discrimination architectures. Participate in developing, executing, and analyzing the results of various tests of the software in a lab environment as needed. Role would include coordination of engineering disciplines in resolving system-level issues. Learn, understand and represent the point of view of the warfighters, operators and systems owners, and see that it is properly respected throughout the engineering efforts. Works as a member of the systems engineering and software development team to develop innovative solutions to existing and new problems in their areas of expertise and ensure that the requirements of the system are understood and implemented in a correct manner. Assignments could also include the analyzing of sensor data, support of the Space Situational Awareness (SSA) interface, and the planning and conducting of Pair-Wise (PW) testing. Background Experience Required: Number Of Year Required: 10+ The Engineer must understand systems engineering, systems design, development and integration. The candidate will possess 10 years’ experience in a related engineering environment, with good experience and expertise in systems-of-systems definition and integration. Experience in Ballistic Missile defense is required. The candidate should have previous experience leading complex teams in a key role. Ability to analyze high level needs and using a structured and logical approach refine those needs into an integrated set of requirements that leads to a fielded product. Ability to lead/perform portions of the work and direct the activities of other systems engineers. Ability to work directly with multiple customer organizations and contractor organizations is a must. Excellent communications skills are required (written and oral) as is the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Able to write and implement engineering plans within a project. Some travel required. A final SECRET clearance is required. Desired experience includes familiarity with Sensor Resource Management (SRM) and Battle Management capability areas. Experience with AN/TPY-2 radar interface and C2BMC to LRDR interface is a strong plus. Technical Skill Required: Candidate must possess an understanding of systems engineering process and principles. Candidate must have experience working in the missile defense domain including operational and technical issues associated with specific areas of the missile defense domain such as engagement management, track management, sensor management, networks, etc. A successful applicant should have a proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions. Candidates should have experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g. specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.) Familiarity with the application and use of systems engineering tools for requirements management and Object Oriented requirements definition (e.g. DOORS) is required. Candidates must have experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions. Experience using C2BMC processes and methods are desirable. Skills required include: engineering leadership, identification and definition of desired capabilities, fielding of new capabilities, system-of-system definition, integration practices and methods, communicating the desired capabilities to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users. Knowledge of C2BMC implementation is also required. Education Required: 10 Years with a Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Science, and Engineering or related discipline OR 8 years with MS/MA in Engineering, Science, or Math. MS desirable. Other: Assigned to the Systems Engineering Team as SE Lead, Supporting Spiral 8.2-5 tasking and other task orders as required. An active Secret clearance is required. 101475
